My goal is to help improve the landscape for young people in childhood cancer remission.
I felt a deep lack of support after my all-clear from cancer. I believe there is an immediate need for change in the way we approach life long aftercare for childhood cancer.
I am writing this blog as a resource for young people and families. I felt a great deal of loneliness and lack of understanding in the remission aspect of my life, and my hope is that sharing my story can be a tool for others to know that the feelings they are having are understandable, that they are in good company of others living in remission, and that they are doing a great job just by existing as their authentic self.
I share anecdotes from treatment, reflections of my experience, and the methods I use to improve my life in remission.
Everything I write is from personal experience, and the reality is that it’s better to be out on the internet for others to maybe benefit from, than it is trapped away in my memory where it serves no purpose at all.
